“That Doesn’t Sound Right: Deciphering Real News From Fake”

Free public lecture by Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications faculty member Denise Bortree. She will discuss such subjects as: Is fake news really news? Where does fake news come from and why is it so influential What role do communicators (journalists, advertising and PR professionals, film makers, etc.) play in the creation and perpetuation of fake new? How do we maintain integrity in public communication and what does it look like to make ethical decisions in this space?
