Social Media Case Study: The Convergence Center for Living Multifunctional Material Systems

The Challenge

The Convergence Center for Living Multifunctional Material Systems tasked CommAgency with launching accounts on LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube to create more visibility of the researchers’ work and the sustainability challenges they are tackling. The center wanted to build a follower community of researchers and students, so the agency team built a social media presence and created content to boost attention.

The Outputs

CommAgency created the following assets for the client:

  • Social media strategy document and presentation
  • New social media accounts on LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube
  • LinkedIn and Twitter posts that highlighted members of the research community at Penn State and their center, showcased the research being done at the labs on and off campus, and spotlighted the labs themselves
  • Final metrics recap presentation

  • Created 41 unique posts
  • LinkedIn: Increased followers from 0 to 332, earned 14,967 impressions and 415 engagements
  • Twitter: Increased followers from 0 to 101, earned 6,529 impressions and 111 engagements
  • YouTube: Gained 310 views across 5 webinars
