Applications

Juniors and seniors are encouraged to submit the application as soon as possible. All majors are welcome to apply.

Students must complete COMM 260W before they can apply.

Requirements

To earn a Curley Center certificate, students must:

  1. Complete COMM 260W
  2. Complete the mandatory major credit hours required for a bachelor's degree in communications. Most applicants are journalism or public relations majors.
  3. Earn a minimum of six credits from COMM 476, 477 and/or 478 and complete an on-campus sports media activity (CommRadio, Daily Collegian, WKPS-FM "The Lion," Penn State Athletics).
  4. Complete an on- or off-campus internship in sports media as well.

Please write 150 words about how you have demonstrated an interested in sports journalism or sports communications/public relations or how you plan to get involved in those fields at Penn State.

Please attach a single (that's one) best example of your work — an essay, photo, story or video. If you're sharing a video, provide a document with a link to the sample. Do not attach the file itself.
