Jingyi Guo

Jingyi Guo is a Ph.D. candidate in Mass Communications and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (Pronouns: She/They/Ta). Her research engages with three intersecting areas: critical and cultural media studies, datafication and surveillance, and Marxist feminism and transnational feminisms. Drawing on ethnographic fieldwork, her ongoing research examines the Chinese datafied state through the lenses of gender, labor, and postcolonial critique. Broadly, she explores digital governance and surveillance and their relationship with social reproduction and global power dynamics.
