Rehab is a first-year Ph.D. student and an Arthur W. Page Center Fellow. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from Kent State University. After working for several years as a clinical dietitian in Saudi Arabia, she shifted her academic focus and completed an integrated B.A./M.A. program in Media Studies at Penn State University. She is also pursuing a graduate minor in Social Data Analytics (SODA).
Her research investigates how to design effective persuasive messages in health, environmental, and science contexts. She examines how perceptions of responsibility shape message processing, emotions, attitudes and prosocial behaviors.
Her research has been presented at major academic conferences, including the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) and the International Public Relations Research Conference (IPRRC).
Outside of research, Rehab enjoys horror movies and spending time with her cats Fiona and Cleopatra.
