Timilehin Durotoye is a Ph.D. candidate at the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications at Penn State. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Department of Communication and Language Arts at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
Her research focuses on the intricate interplay between emerging media/technologies, news consumption, and political behavior. She emphasizes the implications of AI and the impact of digital technologies on human-social interaction, long-term and emergent political behavior, and perceptions. She also explores the psychological effects of communication technologies, including AI and algorithms.
Her work has been published in journals and books such as Political Communication, Telematics and Informatics, and the Handbook of Research on Politics in the Computer Age. She has also presented her research at prominent conferences, including the International Communication Association (ICA), the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC), and the National Communication Association (NCA). She is a member of the Democracy Research Unit (DRU) headed by Prof. Gil de Zuniga at Penn State and the University of Salamanca.
