Peixin Hua

Peixin Hua graduated from Northwestern University with a master’s degree in communication in 2022. She earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism with a double major in finance from Sichuan University, China.

Her research interests include media effects with a focus on social media use and group behavior especially in online networks. During her study at Penn State, she plans to delve into how social media affects personal and organizational networking, especially in the context of new media technologies.

Before coming to Penn State, she worked as a research assistant at Northwestern University in the Network for Nonprofit and Social Impact lab and worked on the “Help seeking” project. She also worked at ChinaPro Marketing Partners as an editor to promote events and write articles about Chicago’s history, community and cultural activities.

In her spare time, she loves traveling, photographing, playing badminton and swimming.
