Biography
Emily Chambers is a Centre County native and a first-generation college graduate. She graduated from Penn State in December 2016 with a B.A. in public relations. While at Penn State, Chambers was a member of Global Brigades: Human Rights, a producer for PSN-TV's "A Taste of State College," and took part in the Stanley E. Degler Washington Program.
After graduating, she interned in Edelman's Atlanta office and then Autotrader before moving to Washington, D.C., as a project coordinator at a small PR firm. In 2018, she joined Teach For America in Memphis, where she taught English as a Second Language for three years. Chambers earned her law degree from Fordham University in 2024. At Fordham she was a staffer on the International Law Journal, participated in the school's Mediation Clinic, and served as captain of the school's coed softball team. She also holds a master's degree in international and European business law from Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Madrid.
After a short stint at a global insurance litigation firm in Manhattan, Chambers followed her passion for service back to Memphis where she now works as an immigration attorney at Latino Memphis. At each turn, she has used her communication skills to get her foot in the door and succeed, demonstrating the versatility of a degree from the Bellisario College of Communications.
In her free time, she enjoys running, hiking and camping (she hates the Oxford comma). She also loves a good book and is always looking for recommendations.
