Hollywood Program, Snapshots

Students in the inaugural Hollywood Program have enjoyed many special opportunities -- from meeting alumni and friends in the Los Angeles to conducting group sessions with high-profile entertainers and partcipating in hands-on internships. Here's a look:

David Shore (center), creator and show runner of the long-running Fox series "House," provided insight about navigating the creative processes to make a show successful. "House" aired for eight seasons, earning more than 50 awards -- including Golden Globes and Emmys.

Penn State Hollywood Program student Carl LaGuerre holds the Oscar for "Spotlight," winner of Best Picture. LaGuerre is an intern at Open Road Films. Penn State alumnus Tom Ortenberg of Open Road was an executive producer on the award-winning and critically acclaimed movie.
