Brief Profiles of Camp Counselors
Broadcast Journalism Camp
Gianna is a senior majoring in broadcast journalism and minoring in sports studies as well as obtaining a certificate in the John Curley Center for Sports. She enjoys running, working out and hanging out with my friends. She has seven siblings and a mini golden doodle named Brian.
Eric is a graduate of the Bellisario College with a broadcast journalism degree. He works in the college now as a media assistant for TV and radio classes and their various productions. He is also a professional broadcaster on the radio for Penn State Men's Hockey and does public address announcing for other teams at Penn State. This will be his third time as a counselor for the broadcast camp.
Esteban Marenco is a sophomore majoring in photojournalism from North Bergen, New Jersey. He loves playing sports, working with cameras and cooking.
Eric is a senior from Erie, Pennsylvania, studying broadcast journalism with a minor in sports studies. He initially wanted to cover sports, however, he has found a real passion for covering the news as well. HIs dream job would be covering sports, ideally in Pittsburgh.
McKenna Wall is a senior broadcast journalism student with experience in live television and event operations. She's a Bellisario Fellow involved in Association for Women in Sports Media, 46LIVE and "After the Whistle," a live sports highlight show on campus. In addition, she's the director of sponsorship for Movin' On, Penn State's annual, student-run music festival. In the past, she has served as a Penn State football live video production intern, new member coordinator and news director for CommRadio, a videographer for the Falmouth Commodores, and a Gameday property assistant intern for Learfield. She is also an active member of the Penn State club sailing team!
Film Production Camp
Zaire “I.C” Fowler-El is a senior telecom major and acting minor. He is a writer, photographer, content creator and actor who loves working on anything creative that expresses how I feel about the world and stuff going on in it.
Ryan McNeill is a 2024 graduate of Penn State film production program. He minored in English and hopes to one day go into screenwriting.
Dani Primus, from Prince George's County, Marylandm is a third-year Bunton-Waller and Bellisario Fellow studying telecommunications with the digital media trends and analystics minor and the Smeal Business Certificate. She is involved with CommAgency as its pre-production and client executive, "Culture Central" as their assistant producer, and the lead producer for a year-long film. After graduation, she wants to work in pre-production/production or business in the film and/or sports industries.
Liana Simmons, from Pittsburgh, is a fourth-year Bunton-Waller Fellow and Bellisario Fellow in the Bellisario College pursuing a degree in film production with a minor in the Chinese language. Since arriving at Penn State, she has been afforded the opportunity to work two internships through the university and has been an active participant in Penn State's Movin’ On Festival, where she serves as the creative director and CommAgency as the student managing director. She has also participated in the University’s 72-hour Short Doc Workshop each spring semester and numerous other events and organizations at Penn State. She intends to work in the film industry after graduation to follow her passion for sharing authentic stories.
Social Media and Content Creator Camp
Tae'Ja is a fourth-year student from Darby, Pennsylvania. She is a double major in film production and photography. She will be participating in the Penn State Hollywood Program this spring and hopes to pursue a career working in film in Korea.
Marielle Reese this past May from Penn State with a broadcast journalism degree.
Joe Tuman is a rising senior at Penn State from Warminster, Pennsylvania. He is the social media editor for The Daily Collegian and a sports writing intern with the Centre County Gazette. He is a huge Philadelphia 76ers and Phillies fan.
Daniel Turpin is from Long Island, New York, and a junior at Penn State studying political science. His YouTube channel is ItsDaniel where he creates funny videos involving college, basketball and other topics. His goal with my channel is to make people laugh. His goal as a counselor is to help campers all be the best content creator they can be!
