The Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications, in partnership with the Pennsylvania School Press Association (PSPA), is hosting this one-day Adviser Workshop to support and empower high school educators leading journalism, yearbook, broadcast and digital media programs.
Through hands-on sessions led by media professionals and educators, you’ll gain practical tools, fresh ideas and a renewed sense of purpose to take back to your classroom or newsroom!

Join fellow high school media advisers for an open roundtable discussion focused on the unique opportunities and challenges of leading student-led media programs. This session will feature experienced advisers sharing best practices on everything from staff management and content planning to navigating administrative hurdles. Participants will also have the chance to discuss common struggles, exchange ideas and build valuable connections with peers in similar roles. Whether you're a new adviser or a veteran, this collaborative session is designed to provide practical takeaways and meaningful support. - 5 p.m. -- Reception (light refreshments will be provided)

All sessions will take place in the state-of-the-art Bellisario Media Center, housed in the Willard Building on Penn State’s University Park campus. This is where we train the next generation of media professionals — and now, we’re excited to share it with you.
