Award-winning journalist, author and philanthropist Soledad O'Brien offers a fresh perspective on a range of social issues during a free public session. Faculty member Boaz Dvir, director of Penn State's Hammel Family Human Rights Initiative, will lead a discussion as the Schreyer Honors College concludes its "Dialogues of Democracy" series. The 90-minute event is free and open to all Penn State students. Registration is not required but encouraged. A Zoom link will be emailed in advance of the symposium to those who register and cannot attend in person.

A hand-on sports remote workshop with Matt Slocum of The Associated Press. The session is open to all students. In his nearly 20-year career with the AP, Slocum has carved out a niche as a leader in remote-fired cameras, capturing images from unique angles and positions that are generally inaccessible. This expertise has led him to some of the biggest events in sports, including the Super Bowl, World Series, Kentucky Derby, Masters golf tournament and the Olympics.

Book reading by Matt Jordan as part of the Humanities Institute Collaborative Colloquia. "Danger Sound Klaxon" charts the rise and fall of the first electronic communication technology in the automobile age. Author Matt Jordan, head of the Department of Film Production and Media Studies, also directs the News Literacy Initiative at Penn State and serves as executive producer of HumIn Focus from the Humanities Institute.
