Evening City Editor

The Sentinel (Lewistown, Pennsylvania)

The Sentinel has an immediate opening for an evening city editor. This person is the primary evening newsroom supervisor five nights per week and also serves as primary copy and page editor. This person will also be tasked with completing a limited number of pages each shift and toning photographs for publication. The successful candidate will possess sound news judgment — including the ability to tactfully deal with sensitive topics — experience in a newsroom setting and familiarity with Google Docs, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. Prior experience in a newsroom management position is a definite plus, but not required.This is a full-time, hourly position with benefits including paid vacation, personal and sick time, life insurance, optional health, vision and dental insurance, reimbursement for work-related expenses, and optional 401(k) retirement plan with partial company match. Starting hourly rate is based upon the successful candidate’s experience and skill level.
