How to Apply
Coordinate the Penn State Washington Semester Program. Locate internships with government and industry. Assist with recruitment and selection of students for the program and placement in internships. Evaluate students’ progress in their internships through site visits and outreach to employers. Arrange student housing and classroom facilities. Assist students with academic and professional concerns. Plan and arrange a schedule of extracurricular events each semester that includes professional development seminars, government and industry tours, activities with alumni, etc.
Responsibilities may also include teaching a professional development course in conjunction with the Career Enrichment Network in the College of the Liberal Arts. May also assist the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications with internship placement, news bureau coordination, and employer recruitment for the College’s annual career fair.
This job is permanently located in Washington, D.C. Must live in or relocate to the Washington, D.C. area. Typically requires a master’s degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The position is initially part-time (20 hours a week). Starting date is September 2024.
