Page Center Research Directory

The Arthur W. Page Center launched an online research directory to chronicle the innovative work conducted by its scholars and record the significant outcomes of their work. The database highlights the wide range of expertise among Center scholars and showcases the breadth of research the Center has funded over nearly two decades.

Since 2004, the Page Center has supported more than 300 scholars from colleges, universities and organizations around the world with more than $1 million in research funding. The new Scholar Research Directory will be a comprehensive database of the hundreds of articles, publications, presentations and research awards these projects produced.

“This initiative was important to us because funding the projects is one thing but understanding and learning from the results is ultimately what’s important,” Page Center director Denise Bortree said. “This database is a step forward in organizing those results so they can guide future work by our scholars.”

Users can browse by research topic or search by author or keyword. Studies are ordered by research call. Each project will feature information about the study and, when applicable, include links to the scholars’ published work.

More than 50 funded projects are currently in the database, and Center organizers know there are many more. Page Center research is awarded, presented, published and recognized often. Scholars can help keep the database updated by submitting their work to the Center.

“The format makes it easy for scholars to view their work,” said Holly Overton, Page Center research director. “We can even bookmark our names to see what publications are featured and what needs to be added. It’s a wonderful way to organize and showcase the great research our scholars produce”

If it’s Page Center-related, the Center wants to know about it. Scholars can email updates to Jonathan McVerry at jmac@psu.edu. Awards, blog posts, news articles, publications and research presentations are welcome. If scholars are unsure if something fits, they are encouraged to contact the Center to check.

Each outcome represents an important piece of the Page Center’s mission, which is to advance ethics and integrity in all forms of public communication. Funding ethics research is a primary objective of the Page Center and, through the incredible work of its scholars, the results collected in this directory are evidence of the Center’s success.
