Christen Buckley

Christen Buckley is a graduate of Penn States master's program in media studies and is excited to continue her academic career in the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications. Before coming to Penn State in 2017 for her master's, Christen worked in New York City as a marketing and fundraising strategic consultant for a variety of local and national non-profits. Christen is a return Penn Stater, earning two honors bachelor's degrees in international politics and theatre, with a minor in French and francophone studies. As a Ph.D. student, Buckley is focusing her studies around media ethics, digital media, public relations, corporate advocacy, advertising and nonprofit communications. In her free time, Buckley likes traveling as much as possible, exploring new museums, hiking, skiing, and trying to keep her plants alive. Through her Ph.D. studies and beyond, Buckley hopes to bring together academic-based knowledge and learnings from the industry to advance the communications field.
