Jack Waier

Jack Waier is a first-year Ph.D. student in the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications. In his education before coming to Penn State, Waier graduated with a B.S. in human biology and M.A. in media and information from Michigan State.

His research interests are a combination of these backgrounds and focus on exploring the connections between narrative use, cognitive dissonance, behavior change and decision-making in health communication. He aims to uncover innovative strategies to develop impactful health communication interventions that foster positive behavior change and provide individuals with strategies in adverse situations.

Outside of research, Waier enjoys running, playing recreational sports and attempting to cook new dishes for everyone.
