Newspaper Journalists Oral History Program

The Pennsylvania Newspaper Journalists Oral History Program chronicles the life histories of leading journalists from across the Commonwealth. The goal of the program is to insure that the heritage of the state journalists and newspapers is preserved.

With more than 300 daily and weekly newspapers -- the most of any state in the country -- Pennsylvania has a tradition of outstanding journalism. From Philadelphia to Pittsburgh and from Bradford to York, Pennsylvania newspapers serve communities of every size with news and information.

The Pennsylvania Newspaper Journalists Oral History Program is a joint project of Penn State's Department of Journalism and the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Foundation. More interviews are being conducted every year, so we hope you will return regularly.
